About Steadymove

Keeping what you have

Most of what people want back is small and specific. Stairs without stopping. Groceries in one trip. Getting up off the floor without planning it first.

The short version

We carry 43 things, and each one has a reason written on it

A search box will return four thousand results for “resistance band” and rank them by margin. It cannot tell you which one is right for the hands you have, and it will never tell you that you do not need it. That gap is the entire reason this store exists.

So every product page here answers one question before it asks for money: why this one. If we cannot write that sentence honestly, the product does not go in the catalog. It is a slower way to build a store and a much better way to buy.

Chosen for a specific body

Lower impact, easier grip, a stable base, resistance that adjusts in small steps, and no getting down onto the floor where it can be avoided. That list is the whole buying criteria.

Comfort and safety are the criteria

Most fitness retail optimises for maximum load. We optimise for whether you will still be using it in a year — which is a completely different piece of equipment.

Built for a home, not a gym

Small footprint, quiet, storable, and nothing that arrives as a box of parts needing two people and an afternoon.

Plain language

No jargon, no shame, and no assumption that you already know what a resistance band is rated for. If a spec matters we print it; if it does not, we leave it out.

The part nobody sells you

Equipment in a closet is not exercise

The thing that actually competes with us is not another shop. It is doing nothing — and the reason people do nothing is usually that they are not sure what to do, or whether they are doing it right.

That is why every exercise on this site is written out in full: what to hold onto, the mistake to watch for, and how to make it easier on a bad day. They are seated wherever they can be, none of them put you on the floor, and several need nothing bought at all.

What we are not

  • Not medical equipment. Nothing here treats or diagnoses anything. If you are working with a doctor or a physical therapist, their instructions outrank ours every time.
  • Not the cheapest. The same items exist for less if you are willing to sort through the listings yourself. What you are paying for here is that somebody already did.
  • Not a catalog. We are not trying to carry everything. 43 well-chosen products beat a hundred imported ones, and the day that stops being true we will have lost the plot.

Not sure where to begin?

Three of these cover strength, balance and range of motion between them. Start there and add later if you want to.
