Using an FSA or HSA
A lot of what we sell can be paid for with money you have already set aside. Some of it needs one short note from your doctor first. Here is which is which, and why.
7 of our products are medical supplies in their own right — heat and cold therapy, compression, positioning. You can usually pay with an FSA or HSA card at checkout, or pay normally and submit the receipt for reimbursement. No paperwork.
28 more can be paid for the same way, but only once a doctor has written that you need it for a specific condition. That note is called a Letter of Medical Necessity. Exercise and mobility equipment falls here: the rules treat the same resistance band differently depending on whether it is general fitness or part of your treatment.
How to get the note
It is usually a short letter, and most practices do them routinely. Ask whoever is already treating the problem — your GP, a physical therapist, a specialist. It needs to say what the condition is, what the item is, and that it is for treating that condition rather than for general fitness. Many plans accept one letter covering a year.
Keep it with your receipt. You will not need to send it to us — it is between you and whoever administers your plan.
What we can and cannot tell you
We label these from the general rules, which come from the IRS definition of a qualified medical expense: something bought mainly to treat or manage a condition, rather than for general health.
We cannot confirm what your own plan covers, and we are not able to give tax advice. Plans differ, employers add their own rules, and your administrator makes the final decision. If it matters to your budget, check with them before you order rather than after.
Where a product could be argued either way, we have labelled it the more cautious way on purpose. A missing badge costs us a sale. A wrong one costs you a rejected claim.
